Chief Petty Officer Kieran Lamond is a Senior Surveillance and Control Officer on a Royal Australian Air Force E-7A Wedgetail aircraft, currently deployed to the Middle East region on Operation ACCORDION.

Royal Australian Navy Chief Petty Officer Combat System Manager Kieran Lamond never thought he would work 30,000 feet above Iraq with the Royal Australian Air Force when he joined the ADF more than 18 years ago.

Royal Australian Navy personnel from Headquarters Joint Task Force 633 led by Rear Admiral Mark Hill, CSC RAN at Camp Baird, the ADF's main operating base in the Middle East Region.

With around 600 ADF personnel deployed to Operation ACCORDION in the Middle East, a small but passionate group of 20 Navy members are looking forward to Christmas with a difference.

The Royal Australian Navy’s Rear Admiral Trevor Jones handed over command of Joint Task Force 633 in the Middle East to Air Vice Marshal Tim Innes last week.
