Personnel from the HMAS Albatross Command Team and women from the Supported Accommodation and Homelessness Services Shoalhaven Illawarra (SAHSSI) do the ‘Each for Equal’ gesture - symbolising the campaign for a gender equal world.

The HMAS Albatross Command Team marked International Women’s Day 2020 by reaching out to women in the local community whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence.

The newly formed ‘Mako Paddle Club’ from HMAS Albatross lines up to compete in a dragon boat race at the 2020 Sydney Lunar New Year Festival regatta at Darling Harbour.

Officially formed in November 2019, the Mako Paddle Club recently participated in its first Australian Dragon Boat Federation regatta, at Darling Harbour, during the Sydney Lunar New Year Festival.

His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d) Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley meet personnel from 808 Squadron at HMAS Albatross to thank them for assisting in bushfire recovery activities.

During a visit to the Shoalhaven and South Coast regions of NSW, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d) Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia recognised the support provided by ADF personnel to emergency services in response to Australia’s bushfire crisis.

Smoke from a nearby fire that threatened HMAS Albatross on New Year’s Eve 2019, burning up to the perimeter fence and grass around the north side of the runway.

For those at HMAS Albatross it might have been hard to miss the irony of fires threatening the base that has helped to fight bushfires for decades, as flames were seen at the western edge of the airfield near Nowra on the NSW south coast.

One hundred students from Nowra Anglican College attended the annual Remembrance Day service, conducted by Chaplain Stephen Estherby, at the HMAS Albatross chapel this year.

The S-2 Tracker (844) arrives at it's new home of the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) Aviation Museum at Illawarra Regional Airport after the short flight from HMAS Albatross.

After months of intensive testing and preparation a Grumman Tracker (844) flew, for the first time since 1998, from HMAS Albatross to her new home at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society Aviation Museum at Illawarra Regional Airport.

Navy personnel, emergency services and contractors respond to a crashex scenario near the HMAS Albatross airfield.

HMAS Albatross regularly conducts crash exercises, known as a ‘crashex’, around a range of emergency scenarios designed to ensure the ship’s company is ready to handle real incidents when they occur without notice.
