Leading Seaman Jessica Sampson onboard HMAS Parramatta this year for Christmas conducting border protection operations in northern Australian waters.

Adelaide native Jessica Sampson works in a hospitality job with a difference. Like many other 22 year olds, she likes to travel and expects to spend New Year’s Eve in the company of a bunch of young people of around the same age. But unlike most of her peers, Jessica will bring the New Year in at sea, deployed on Operation RESOLUTE onboard the Australian warship HMAS Parramatta.

Six members from Sensis Newcastle were given the opportunity to visit Garden Island and tour HMAS Parramatta, after they won an internal competition, inspired by Navy Values.

On 29 September 2013 the Flight Deck Team of HMAS Parramatta conducted a VERTREP with ESPS Cantabria, while participating in Exercise TRITON CENTENARY 13.

In September, HMAS Parramatta’s Flight Deck Team conducted a Vertical Replenishment (VERTREP) with Spanish replenishment ship ESPS Cantabria while participating in Exercise TRITON CENTENARY 13.

The City of Parramatta paid tribute to the service of men and women from all ships that have carried the Parramatta name in a wreath laying ceremony at the HMAS Parramatta (I) memorial at Queens Wharf Park this week.
