Last week saw the Royal Australian Navy, Royal Australian Air force and Army come together to play the final games of the annual football tournament at Manly Warringah Football Club.

It’s not everyday you get to see an international sports competition, but members of HMAS Choules are creating their own, matching up against Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) personnel from the Tarangau Naval Base, Manus Island.

Aussie sailors from patrol boat base HMAS Coonawarra have emerged victorious in a friendly soccer match against a combined United States Navy and United States Marine Corps team.

When the Socceroos took on Japan in their World Cup qualifier in Tokyo recently, representatives of HMAS Sydney were there and in top form, determined that the boys from Down Under would not have to take to the field without sounds of ‘Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi’ to spur them on.
