HMAS Darwin's Communication and Information Systems department shows their support towards Motor Neurone Disease fundraising efforts.

Leading Seaman Communication & Information Systems sailor Erin Ormiston is running over 5000km to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Western Australia. Erin is currently in HMAS Darwin which is enroute to conduct the 57th rotation of Operation SLIPPER in the Middle East Area of Operations.

After months of intensive preparation, HMAS Darwin departed her homeport of Garden Island, Sydney for a seven-month deployment as part of Operation SLIPPER.

The Australian Warship HMAS Darwin departed Sydney today, bound for the Middle East Area of Operations where she will take over Operation SLIPPER duties from HMAS Melbourne

HMAS Darwin sails past Hornby Lighthouse on South Head, at Watsons Bay, Sydney.

HMAS Darwin is ‘Resurgent’ again, having recently completed a major maintenance docking, which involved more than 140,000 hours of contracted work. Emerging from the dry dock in mid-May, her crew began the tireless work required to transform the industrial worksite back into an operational warship.
