Navy Indigenous Development Program 13 enlistment ceremony at Cairns Defence Force Recruiting Centre.

Twenty-one Indigenous recruits consisting of 12 females and 9 males, ranging in age from 18 to 30, enlisted into the Royal Australian Navy on 13 February, as part of the Navy Indigenous Development Program.

Eighteen recruits graduated from Navy’s Indigenous Development Program at HMAS Cairns in December, and friends, family and senior officers were there to congratulate them on their accomplishments.

Australian Defence Force members take part in a dance ceremony where all members are encouraged to join in, at the end of each day during the 20th Anniversary of the Garma Festival.

Navy, Army and Air Force personnel were in attendance at the 20th Garma Festival in Gulkula, north-east Arnhem Land, Northern Territory earlier this month.

Past graduates of the Defence Indigenous Development Program (DIDP), also graduated from General Entry 346 Emms Division at Recruit School, HMAS Cerberus, Victoria.

Eleven Indigenous young men and women graduated from Navy Recruit training in one hit on 13 October in front of family, friends and the Chief of Navy.
