HMAS Adelaide enters Darwin Harbour as part of the Indo-Pacific Endeavour Joint Task Group 2017.
Adelaide and Toowoomba have arrived in Darwin, en route to the Indo-Pacific region as part of an 11-week deployment that will further enhance military cooperation with some of Australia’s key regional partners.

Lieutenant Andrew Vergelius from HMAS Adelaide is presented a shawl from Noi, who he has known since he served in Dili, Timor during the INTERFET campaign in 1999. Lieutenant Vergelius had the opportunity to catch up for the first time in 18 years while conducting Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2017.
For Lieutenant Andrew Vergelius, the recent delivery into Dili Harbour of a deployable hospital and medical supplies provided the opportunity to renew a friendship which began during the turmoil of Timor-Leste’s independence struggle in 1999.
