The Royal Australian Navy and the NSW Government today unveiled the restored mast of HMAS Sydney (I) – one of Australia’s most important monuments to ships and crew lost in war – at Bradleys Head on Sydney Harbour.

As well as performing in a concert and its participation in a street parade, both to help celebrate Tall Ships Hobart as a lead-up to the IFR, the Tasmanian contingent of the Royal Australian Navy Band also fitted in a performance at the annual Oliebollen Festival at Kingston.

Director of the 2013 International Fleet Review, Captain Nick Bramwell, has congratulated Australian naval artist Ian Hansen who has been awarded the International Fleet Review Art Commission to paint the commemorative re-enactment for the centenary of the arrival of the First Australian Fleet Unit into Sydney Harbour.
