Petty Officer Combat Systems Supervisor David Kennedy and his son Able Seaman Marine Technician Ross Kennedy had an unexpected reunion onboard HMAS Ballarat recently, during a transfer of personnel while on Operation RESOLUTE.

The HMAS Perth (I) memorial service onboard HMAS Ballarat (II) was administered by Ballarat’s chaplain, Chaplain Rendall Walker.

HMAS Ballarat held a moving memorial service to commemorate the crew of HMAS Perth (I) while passing through the Sunda Strait yesterday.

HMAS Ballarat successfully completed a port visit to Langkawi, Malaysia at the start of September as part of her South East Asian Deployment.

HMAS Ballarat leaves stern first from Fleet Base East, Sydney, for a three month deployment to South East Asia.

Without fanfare, HMAS Ballarat departed Fleet Base East early on 5 August 2013 to conduct some additional warfare training before commencing a three month South East Asian and Operation RESOLUTE deployment, following almost a month of intense Unit Readiness Workups.
