Following a highly successful Combat System Sea Qualification Trial period HMAS Brisbane Officers and Sailors took on a very different fight along the famous streets of New York City.

After coming within minutes of walking away on top, the Australian Defence Force team was beaten by the New Zealand Defence Force in the second Pacific Military Cup rugby competition, held in Canberra from 24-26 October.

HMAS Moreton personnel have taken on a bushwalking challenge to test their mental and physical resilience. The old Brisbane rail trail comprises 161km of rugged Australian bushland, often crossing though small Queensland towns, providing a challenge even for the regular bushwalker.

More than 84,000 people participated in the City2Surf race in Sydney in August, resulting in a sell-out crowd for the organisers of the annual running event.
