Able Seaman Nathan Downes is a Marine Technician Submariner currently posted to HMAS Stirling. Nathan will guide the winners of the 2020 National Submarine Tour and Competition as they board a Submarine and live a day in the life of a Navy Submariner.

Aspiring Royal Australian Navy Submariners have the chance to win the experience of a lifetime as part of the 2020 National Submarine Tour Competition, open to Australian civilians aged 18 to 35 years old.

Cadets, instructors and officers of Training Ship Pioneer exercise their right to Freedom of Entry to the City of Mackay, Qld.

With swords drawn, band playing, drums beating and flags flying, the cadets, instructors and officers of Training Ship Pioneer exercised their right to Freedom of Entry to the City of Mackay this month, as part of 60th anniversary celebrations for the Australian Navy Cadets unit.

During the major Japan-US Exercise ANNUALEX, the crew of HMAS Hobart spared a minute to reflect on those that sacrificed their lives in the very waters they sailed.

A group of 50 officers and sailors from HMAS Hobart recently participated in a ceremony to mark the 74th United Nations Day at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery, in Busan, Republic of Korea, during the ship’s current East Asia Deployment.

The Ceremonial Sunset guard prepares to fire a volley with blank cartridges during a ceremony at HMAS Penguin, Mosman on 6 November 2019.

HMAS Penguin has continued its annual tradition of inviting the people of Mosman and the Northern Beaches to a reception to thank the community for their ongoing support, and an opportunity for locals to learn more about Penguin’s mission and get a taste of Navy culture with a Beat to Quarters and Ceremonial Sunset.

The Royal Australian Navy has celebrated the completion of 27 years of service by HMAS Melbourne, the last of her class. The 138 metre long Adelaide class guided missile frigate was decommissioned at her home port at Fleet Base East, Garden Island in Sydney.
