HMAS Adelaide has left Jakarta after a two-day visit, building on relationships, as part of a multi-ship Australian Defence Force deployment across the region.

The ship's company of HMAS Hobart line the upper decks and cheer ship during HMAS Hobart’s Commissioning Ceremony held at Garden Island, Sydney.

With a zealous crowd and great fanfare, the guided missile destroyer HMAS Hobart was commissioned in to the Royal Australian Navy fleet in a formal ceremony at Garden Island in Sydney today.

On 23 September, the Royal Australian Navy will commission the first of three new destroyers. In continuing our reflective stories of previous ships that have carried the name HMAS Hobart, this is the story of Hobart (II).

It was her first time at sea when Sub Lieutenant Lauren Beaufils had the opportunity to participate in a medical evacuation exercise onboard HMAS Adelaide, with the Indo-Pacific Endeavour 17 Task Group off the coast of Townsville.
