The Royal Australian Navy frigate HMAS Perth has been given a helping hand by the RAN supply ship HMAS Success during Replenishment at Sea in the southern Indian Ocean.

Stores and equipment are unloaded from HMAS Toowoomba before the ship is replenished in preparation of support to Operation SOUTHERN INDIAN OCEAN in the search for missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370.

In a demonstration of the Royal Australian Navy’s commitment to the search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, personnel at Fleet Base West resupplied and helped HMAS Toowoomba return to sea in under six hours.

After completing an Operation RESOLUTE deployment in Darwin, HMAS Ballarat commenced a fast transit down the West Coast towards Fleet Base West. Ballarat was in company with HMAS Success as they passed through one of the most important areas on Australia’s long coastline.

At the end of November, Seaman Boatswains Mate Melissa Sirett celebrated her 18th birthday while embarked in HMAS Success for her first sea posting.
