Thirty-three years ago, a junior Royal Australian Navy sailor joined a new ship, HMAS Success, and today he is on that ship’s final voyage.

The INDO-PACIFIC ENDEAVOUR 2019 (IPE19) deployment has concluded after nearly three months away, visiting seven countries and travelling 12,500 nautical miles in South- and South-East Asia.

The Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Michael Noonan, AO, RAN has personally congratulated the crew of HMAS Success on her final deployment before decommissioning in June.

Three young officers from Australia and New Zealand have spent their time well on HMAS Success’ final deployment by furthering their Maritime Warfare Officer (MWO) training.
