Navy Canteens chair Commodore Ian Murray, Commander Fleet Air Arm, Commodore Chris Smallhorn and Commanding Officer HMAS Albatross, Captain Simon Bateman were on hand to conduct the official opening.

HMAS Albatross is sporting a first-class recreational and meeting space with the opening of the Navy Canteens facility in the newly constructed base support precinct.

Just in time for Christmas, Lieutenant (LEUT) Stefan Zohar graduated from the Submarine Warfare Officers Course, a milestone course for submarine officers, designed to develop skills to tactically employ a Collins Class Submarine in a range of different roles as the Watch Leader.

HMAS Farncomb has completed a week of training with the James Fisher Rescue Service LR5 Submersible in the East Australia Exercise Area to prove Australia's submarine rescue capabilities.

Hobart welcomed the first Collins Class submarine visit to the region for five years, with the arrival of HMAS Farncomb into port late last week.

This month, crew members from USS Chicago took time out from their normal duties to conduct community engagement and provide a helping hand at the Cohunu Koala Park in Byford, Western Australia.
