Warrant Officer Darren Jago, of HMAS Cerberus, makes his 8th donation of convalescent plasma, supported by Registered Nurse Joy from the Frankston Lifeblood Donor Centre in Victoria.

As a regular blood donor since 2007, Warrant Officer Darren Jago was asked by Red Cross Lifeblood to consider donating convalescent plasma.

HMAS Kuttabul Physical Training Instructors have agreed to undergo some short term pain for longer term gain in a burpee challenge to aid the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation.

Seaman Gap Year Louise Schultz celebrated her 19th birthday by making her first ever blood donation, at the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Donor Centre in Frankston, Victoria, as part of the 2020 Defence Blood Challenge.

With Australia currently needing 29,000 blood donations each week, ship’s company of HMAS Cerberus have rallied together to book out an entire daily schedule at the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Frankston Donor Centre in Victoria.

When the women of HMAS Albatross Command Team visited the Supported Accommodation & Homelessness Services Shoalhaven Illawarra earlier this year, they left with a determination to build on that activity and to continue to offer support.

Deputy Fleet Commander, Commodore Robert Plath, presents Mrs Jan-Maree Ball with with a special quilt, made in secret by her fellow volunteer quilters.

Hundreds of Navy people can attest to the gratitude they felt to be sent a handcrafted, volunteer-made quilt while deployed on operations. Now after eight years supporting Navy people, Mrs Jan-Maree Ball, leader of Aussie Hero Quilts, has been presented with a quilt of her own.

Winter is an especially busy time for many Shoalhaven support services, which means the HMAS Albatross Community Engagement Team has also been busy providing assistance however and whenever they can.

Following the experience of a lively monthly ‘Soundwaves’ concert at HMAS Cerberus last year, Mr Patrick Morel was most impressed, and soon after requested a concert at the Cumberland View Retirement Village for himself and his fellow residents.
