From the outset, the Australian Defence Force Surfriders Association women’s development camp attracted enthusiastic participants and fostered an inclusive and encouraging environment.
The Navy Surfriders Association held its September surfing event at Werri Beach in New South Wales, as part of its commitment to continue surfing and competing every month leading in to the national Inter-Service championships.
Some of the Australian Defence Force’s best surfers took on, and defeated, British Army and Royal Air Force surfing teams at the inaugural Defence International Surf Festival on in early May.
Although conditions were far from ideal for the Inter-Service Surfing Championships held at Ulladulla at the end of March, Navy surfers performed exceptionally well.
At this year’s Inter-Service Surfing Competition there was no shortage of big swells for the Australian Defence Force’s best surfers.
The Navy Surfriders Association - West (NSA-W) Chapter held its inaugural monthly surfriders competition on Wednesday 10 July 2013 at Surf Beach, Secret Harbour, Western Australia.
The beaches around the Shoalhaven have been given a workout lately, and with good reason - members of HMAS Creswell’s ship’s company have been training hard for the 2013 Inter-Service Surfing Championships (ISSC), hosted recently by RAAF Base Williamtown at One Mile Beach.
