More than 1600 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel have arrived in the United States ahead of a month of focused military training activities with 26 nations from across the globe for Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2018.

HMAS Melbourne has departed her home port of Fleet Base East bound for a seven month deployment to the South West Pacific and North East Asia. Melbourne's deployment will include participation in the second iteration of Indo-Pacific Endeavour, Exercise KAKADU in Australia's north and a variety of port visits and community engagement in the North East Asian region.

Royal Australian Navy frigates, HMA Ships Parramatta and Melbourne, have joined Republic of Korea destroyer, ROKS SejeongTheGreat, and US destroyer, USS Chafee to participate in a multilateral maritime interdiction exercise off the coast of Jeju.

Australia and the Republic of Korea participated in Exercise HAEDOLI WALLABY, a bilateral anti-submarine warfare exercise, from 1-3 November, demonstrating a shared commitment by Australia and the Republic of Korea to regional security and security of the Korean peninsula.
