Moving offices in the civilian world is a little less complicated and spectacular than the Royal Australian Navy way as was displayed last week at Fleet Base West.
Recently the prestigious Gloucester Cup was presented to HMAS Anzac’s ship's company, now embarked in HMAS Stuart by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO.
The Commander Joint Operations Command, Lieutenant General Ash Power, has presented HMAS Anzac’s former Catering Department with a Group Commendation for its efforts and hard work while deployed to the Middle Eastern Area of Operations.
It was with a sense of pride and achievement that HMAS Stuart longing for home, entered Sydney in procedure Alpha after having been away for two years in extended readiness.
Following an extremely busy and challenging ten weeks alongside Fleet Base West, HMAS Stuart returned to Sydney yesterday. With the sounds of a lone piper playing on the Chaff Deck, the ‘Tartan Terror’ glided into Fleet Base East and was met by family and friends as well as the Commander Australian Fleet, Rear Admiral Tim Barrett.
