Petty Officer Boatswain Rowan Verheijen, who has recently completed 15 years of service in the Royal Australian Navy.

A career dedicated to service across the Patrol Boat community has recently been acknowledged in Cairns, with ADV Cape Inscription Starboard Crew celebrating PO Rowan Verheijen’s 15 years of service in the RAN.

Sailors in Navy’s Cape Class Patrol Boats are buoyed by the recent approval by Chief of Navy to replace their ‘Royal Australian Navy’, ‘HMA Patrol Boat’ and ‘Patrol Boat Group’ tally bands with their own ship's name.

ADV Cape Fourcroy (pictured) and Cape Inscription were involved in two maritime rescues in seven days.

ADV Cape Inscription has rushed to the aid of a vessel on fire in Darwin Harbour. It was the second recent incident when Royal Australian Navy crewed Cape Class patrol boats have lent assistance to mariners in distress.
