Seven Australian specialist medical officers at the forefront of their chosen fields are continuing Australia’s contribution to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan.

Australian Defence Force personnel deployed to Juba in South Sudan, as part of Operation ASLAN have used their spare time when not working with the United Nations to help out and cheer up children at two local orphanages.

Australians from across the three services are working with the United Nations in South Sudan in key headquarters positions, aviation and logistics support roles, as well as acting as military liaison officers (MLO).

Friday 11 July saw Commander Simon Cannell hand over command of the Anzac Class Frigate HMAS Parramatta to Commander Andrew Willis amongst a South Pacific setting.

Royal Australian Navy frigate HMAS Parramatta has departed Honiara, Solomon Islands after a three-day visit, to continue a maritime patrol as part of Operation SOLANIA.

Commander Task Force 150, Commodore Jeremy Blunden, RN addresses members of HMAS Darwin's ship's company during a clear lower deck, while the ship was alongside in Muscat for a logistics visit.

HMAS Darwin’s contribution to operations in the Middle East was formally recognised during a visit to the ship on 2 July by Commodore Jeremy Blunden Royal Navy, Commander of Combined Task Force 150.

HMAS Parramatta recently conducted a port visit to Port Vila, Vanuatu in support of Operation SOLANIA, which aims to assist South Pacific Islands in protecting their own fisheries and natural resources to foster economic development and stability in the South Pacific region.

The forecastle party on HMAS Parramatta prepare the ship for berthing in Noumea, New Caledonia during a port visit as part of Operation Solania.

HMAS Parramatta conducted a port visit to Noumea, New Caledonia as part of Operation SOLANIA which supports the policing of the Economic Exclusion Zones of Pacific Island countries. While in New Caledonia, Parramatta conducted exercises with French Navy Ship (FNS) Vendémaire, and other units based New Caledonia.
