Two sailors from HMAS Stirling found themselves in the proverbial right place at the right time recently as they were driving back to Rockingham from a task that took them to the southwest WA town of Busselton.

It is a fantastic feeling being recognised for the work you do, and at Training Authority – Submarines (TA-SM) located at HMAS Stirling, Rockingham Western Australia, deserving staff, both military and civilian, are publicly acknowledged for their extra efforts.

Navy’s commitment to cultural diversity has never been more apparent than over the weekend of 19-20 October with Chief of Navy Vice Admiral Tim Barrett attending three significant and unique events in Sydney.
April marks the fifth anniversary of Navy’s cultural change journey under New Generation Navy (NGN). To mark this milestone, the Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Ray Griggs, has recorded a video and launched a brochure to inform Navy people about what has been achieved since 2009.

On the 3 February, 90 brand new recruits joined the Navy. They arrived at the Royal Australian Navy Recruit School, at HMAS Cerberus, from Darwin, Hobart, Sydney, Perth and everywhere in between to begin an 11-week journey to become sailors.
