HMAS Hobart has completed the initial phase of its first operational deployment, engaging with the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force and taken the opportunity to explore Japan prior to continuing to follow-on tasking.

The Mine Disposal Vehicle is launched from HMAS Gascoyne during MIWEX 19 in the waters of the Republic of Korea.

HMAS Gascoyne, part of a Minehunter Task Group, has spent a busy two weeks far from her usual stomping ground, having travelled over 5000 nautical miles to participate in a Multinational Mine Warfare Exercise in the Republic of Korea.

The pre-deployment preparations and training for the Australian lead Combined Task Force 150 mission wrapped up at HMAS Watson recently, with the task group getting a stamp of approval from the Commodore Flotillas Force Generation Directorate.
