HMAS Cerberus gathered its people to recognise the traditional owners of the Cerberus land by officially unveiling an Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians plaque, observing a Welcome to Country and being part of an Indigenous smoking ceremony.

Navy’s Indigenous Performance Group Bungaree, was once again centre stage when it proudly performed before 1,200 guests at the 2014 National NAIDOC Awards, held recently at the Gold Coast, to recognise the outstanding contribution of Indigenous Australians.

Children from Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community, Jervis Bay, had a surprise from aloft this week when a Squirrel helicopter from 723 Squadron (HMAS Albatross) and personnel from HMAS Creswell dropped in for a visit.
