The Australian Defence Force’s third Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD), NUSHIP Sydney, is on track to be delivered to the Navy in February 2020 after completing sea trials.

The Royal Australian Navy is now one of the world’s premier amphibious forces with both of the Fleet’s Canberra Class Landing Helicopter Docks and Landing Craft, acquired under Joint Project 2048, successfully achieving Final Operational Capability in November.

HMAS Hobart has completed the initial phase of its first operational deployment, engaging with the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force and taken the opportunity to explore Japan prior to continuing to follow-on tasking.
