Have you heard the news? The new canteen at HMAS Watson has finally opened. The facility was officially opened by Jak Goudman from Navy Canteens, the Executive Officer HMAS Watson, Commander Jan Noonan and the Ship’s Warrant Officer, Paul Cohen, in a recent ceremony.

Significant improvements to the space and menu of the canteen are a welcome change for the hungry officers and sailors of Watson who had to endure a year without a canteen. The new range of appetising goods on offer will cater for everyone with a range of freshly made sandwiches and hot take-away food.

Watson's ship’s company, temporary residents, course members and visitors to the base are already making good use of the new facilities and with profits from sales going back to Navy personnel in the form of grants, loans and sponsorship, it's a story with a very happy ending for everyone.
