“As the year closes, I thank you all for what you do.
I thank you for your passion, professionalism and service.
This year our Navy has maintained a high tempo, regardless of where in Navy you are posted.
You have all dedicated yourselves to deliver on our Navy’s commitments, and that is vitally important to achieving our Navy’s headmark and contributing to the safety and security of our nation and our region.
For many of our Navy families, this time of year is a joyous time, a time to reunite, renew and relax.
However, for those families who are apart from their loved ones this festive season, this time of year can be especially hard.
Please enjoy your time together, but spare a thought for those on their own, and remember to check on your mates.
For those people deployed or keeping our Navy running over the reduced activity period, you have my highest respect and gratitude for your sacrifice over the leave period.
Please stay safe and take care - whatever your plans, have a fantastic break.
What we do in our Navy is truly a collaborative effort.
We cannot do what we do without the support of our shipmates, enterprise colleagues and most importantly, our family and friends.
I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
See you all in 2020, rested and ready to be part of our Australian Navy that is prepared to deliver on our Navy’s mission while supporting our shipmates, family and friends.”
