Able Seaman Electronics Technician Damien Lovie farewells his girlfriend Miss Eliza Skate prior to HMAS Arunta departing Fleet Base West on HMAS Arunta's North East Asian Deployment.

Friends, family and loved ones lined the wharf at Fleet Base West, south of Perth, Western Australia, in late August as HMA Ships Sirius and Arunta departed for North East Asian deployments.

HMAS Arunta fires the 5-inch gun for the first time in three years, as part of her Sea Qualification Trials.

HMAS Arunta recently dusted off the mount, tested the sensor systems and did final voice procedures prior to firing their 5-inch gun for the first time in three years during sea qualification trials in the West Australian Exercise Area.

Chief of Navy Vice Admiral Ray Griggs AO, CSC, RAN enjoys his last sunset at sea onboard HMAS Arunta in the West Australian Exercise Area.

Chief of Navy (CN) Vice Admiral Ray Griggs AO, CSC, RAN has gone to sea for the last time as Chief of Navy onboard HMAS Arunta, just as the ship has achieved a significant milestone with the completion of the Anti-Ship Missile Defence Upgrade Programme.

The 12th of February was a significant day for HMA Ships Warramunga and Arunta. Not only did Warramunga’s crew swap platforms into Arunta, the Fleet Commander, Rear Admiral Tim Barrett, was also on hand to present the Australia Cup to Arunta’s ship’s company.

In February, ten members of HMAS Arunta’s ship’s company donated their time and skills to help out the children of the Malibu School in Safety Bay, Western Australia, as a part of Navy’s ongoing support to the community.
