Petty Officer Maritime Logistics - Supply Chain Sarah Hickling from HMAS Albatross strikes the soccer ball for a penalty shoot-out against HMAS Anzac during the finals of the Nirimba Cup soccer competition held at Randwick Barracks, Sydney.

The team from frigate, HMAS Anzac took home the Nirimba Cup following several nail-biting soccer matches and penalty shoot-outs at Randwick Barracks in Sydney in mid September.

It was up, up and away for the EC-135T2 helicopter, the latest aircraft to be acquired by the Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army as part of the new Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS).

The Sikorsky MH-60R

The Sikorsky MH-60R "Romeo" Seahawk helicopter "2-4" which is the 24th and final Romeo military helicopter to be delivered to the Royal Australian Navy from Sikorsky Defence Systems and Services as part of AIR9000 Phase 8.

The last of Navy's 24 MH-60R maritime combat helicopters was accepted by Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Tim Barrett, in a ceremony at  Lockheed-Martin’s Logistics and Maintenance Facility at Nowra’s Aviation Technology Park on Monday 12 September.

And the winner is...Albatross

Contractors have completed building the new Helicopter Aircrew Training System facility at HMAS Albatross, NSW, and commenced the installation of state-of-the-art simulators.

Construction of a multi-million-dollar helicopter training facility that will ensure Navy and Army aircrews remain at the cutting edge of military aviation achieved a milestone this month.

Navy Canteens chair Commodore Ian Murray, Commander Fleet Air Arm, Commodore Chris Smallhorn and Commanding Officer HMAS Albatross, Captain Simon Bateman were on hand to conduct the official opening.

HMAS Albatross is sporting a first-class recreational and meeting space with the opening of the Navy Canteens facility in the newly constructed base support precinct.
