Competitors cross the finish line on completion of the 2016 Gate to Gate race held at HMAS Penguin in Mosman.

For the 38th year in a row, HMAS Penguin held the 'Gate to Gate Fun Run and Walk' in 2016 but for the second year 'running' used it to bring attention to family and domestic violence.

HMAS Adelaide conducts a City2Surf fun run on the flight deck as the ship sails to Hobart, Tasmania.

The crew of HMAS Adelaide did not let the fact they were at sea stop them from taking part in Sydney’s City2Surf, setting up their own version of the famous fun run onboard.

Under starter's orders 'they're off ' in the 2015 Bonshaw Cup.

The Bonshaw Cup is the second oldest running event in the Australian Capital Territory and was run again on 30 October at HMAS Harman. First contested in 1963, the 5km fun run/walk has progressed from an exclusive Navy event, to being one where the broader Defence community can now participate, promoting positive relationships.

More than 200 people took advantage of the rare opportunity to tread the tarmac when the T-shaped HMAS Albatross airfield was closed for the fifth annual ‘Tour the T’ charity fun run in early December.

Recently members of NUSQN 725 took time out of their busy schedules to participate in the USA National 15km Running Championships in Jacksonville, Florida.

HMAS Albatross Commanding Officer, Captain Gordon Andrew presented representatives of the Nowra Veterans and Community Men’s Shed with a cheque for $600, which will assist the Nowra Men’s Shed in their aim to improve men’s health and well-being by creating opportunities for social interaction among men and raising awareness of men’s health issues.

Navy will cheer rowdily from afar for NUSHIP Canberra’s LSBM Josh O’Hanlon when he tackles his first 42km marathon race at the New York Marathon on 3 November.
