HMAS Canberra hosted the 2016 NSW Kids in Need open day media launch on Friday 6 June 16.

For kids like 16 year old Scott Green who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy, public donations play a large role in providing him with a quality of life. It is kids like Scott, which Navy is hoping to help with HMAS Canberra’s first Sydney open day this weekend.

A group of 18 Indigenous students from the Clontarf Foundation took some time away from the classroom recently and got a taste of Navy life at HMAS Stirling, in Western Australia.

Five high school students from five Australian states participated in a work experience program at Darwin’s HMAS Coonawarra Navy base recently to get a taste of life in the Navy.

Two thousand people will have the opportunity to tour HMAS Canberra and help raise funds for charity while the warship is alongside in Sydney on Saturday, 21 May.

HMAS Ballarat ship's company led by Commanding Officer, Commander David Landon CSM, RAN, challenged by local Police Superintendant Mr Andrew Allen at the Ballarat Town Hall during it's Freedom of Entry.

In a time honoured tradition officers and sailors from Royal Australian Navy warship HMAS Ballarat exercised a Freedom of Entry to their namesake city on 29 May.

The Australian Ex Services Atomic Survivors Association visited HMAS Stirling recently, as the group was in Western Australia preparing to travel to the site of the atomic tests at the Monte Bello Islands in the 1950s.
