As the Australian Defence Force participates in activities to mark the anniversary of the INTERFET (International Force East Timor) deployment 20 years ago, one Navy photographer still receives requests for the imagery he captured on the deployment.

The Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Michael Noonan, has joined the Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Mel Hupfeld in presenting a number of service medals to three brothers who between them have accumulated more than 80 years of service to our nation.
Seventy-seven years ago, the sounds of machine gun fire and exploding grenades were common place throughout the Owen Stanley Ranges in the PNG highlands. Today the only physical evidence of the conflict is decaying plane wreckages and slowly caving bunkers that were once home to Australian soldiers.
