Commander Andy Clowes joins Vietnam veterans at a Vietnam Veterans Day commemorative service at Anzac Square in Brisbane.

HMAS Moreton represented Navy at two separate events in Brisbane on 18 August that commemorated the battles of the Vietnam War and those who served in them.

Navy members based at HMAS Coonawarra in Darwin travelled to Alice Springs to show their respects at the Vietnam Veterans Day memorial service last Saturday. They were joined by members from the RAN Band Sydney and Navy Headquarters South Australia as part of Navy’s Community Engagement Program.

Commemorative services for Vietnam Veterans Day involving both current and former Royal Australian Navy members took place across the country recently with Navy’s Western Australian-based personnel attending services at War Memorials in Port Kennedy and the City of Joondalup.

The more-than 50,000 Australians who served in the Vietnam War were honoured with services of remembrance throughout the nation on the weekend.
