Navy aviators may be accustomed to soaring at great heights and their engineering team helps them to achieve that. But as this is usually done from the relative comfort of a helicopter cockpit or a hangar, the 10 Fleet Air Arm personnel from or attached to HMAS Albatross who are poised to step off the top of the 26 storey AMP Building later this month will also be stepping far outside their comfort zones.

On Thursday 26 September 2013, Royal Australian Navy members from HMAS Toowoomba’s Maritime Logistics Department provided support to Foodbank, Western Australia.

A bloody battle has ensued at the Joint Task Force Headquarters Northern Command in Darwin with Navy, Army and Air Force personnel striving to achieve the largest donation in the fifth annual Defence Blood Challenge.

Personnel from Navy Headquarters Tasmania recently joined a team of volunteers collecting for Hobart Legacy around the city’s CBD and neighbouring shopping centres. In an outstanding effort, the Navy team collected well over $1000 on their first day of volunteering.

The Australian Red Cross, Sydney is busy with Navy members from HMAS Huon during the Defence Blood Challenge.

The Australian Red Cross was flooded with donations today when the ship’s company of HMAS Huon rolled up their sleeves in Sydney to support the 2013 Defence Blood Challenge.

NUSHIP Canberra personnel visited Paediatrics at the Canberra Hospital (PatCH) on 16 September 2013 to join the ACT Veterans Rugby Club in presenting to the PatCH Foundation a $1000 donation from local Canberra based company iCognition.

Personnel from HMAS Stirling and Fleet Base West ported ships showed their support for Life Education’s ‘Ocsober’ by participating in a 24 hour spin bike marathon at the Fleet Base West gymnasium over 19-20 September.
