Navy Lieutenant and Maryborough resident, Scott MacPherson is a long way from the ocean. The 34-year-old Maritime Logistics Officer is currently posted to land locked Afghanistan.

Adam Quinn joined the Royal Australian Navy looking for a career that could give him a change of lifestyle.  

The sailor who hails from Sorell in Tasmania said he certainly found that change in the Navy’s Armidale Class Patrol Boats.

Joining the Royal Australian Navy to build on his trade as a light vehicle mechanic, James, now an Able Seaman Marine Technician specialises in high power marine mechanics in the Navy’s Armidale Class Patrol Boats.

When 808 Squadron Executive Officer Lieutenant Commander Dom Cooper drew his ceremonial sword and took his place as Parade Commander for the commissioning of Navy’s newest squadron at HMAS Albatross this morning, he carried on a family tradition dating back more than a century.
