The Collins class submarine HMAS Rankin has been awarded the Royal Australian Navy’s prestigious Gloucester Cup for the third time.

Collins Class Submarine HMAS Sheean comes alongside Diamantina Pier at Fleet Base West after being deployed for five months.

After an extensive five month deployment in south-east Asia, Australian Navy submarine HMAS Sheean steamed back into Fleet Base West, in Rockingham, Western Australia last week.

Friends, family and a contingent from the Submarine Force farewelled HMAS Sheean as she sailed for a deployment to India from her home port of HMAS Stirling in 2015 for a significant milestone as the first time a Collins Class Submarine would visit India.

Bribie Island girl Bianca van Peperzeel, grew up girt by sea and now she sails all seven of them in her career in the Navy as part of the Submarine Force. Recently awarded her 'dolphins', a prestigious qualification reserved for submariners, she has visited India whilst serving onboard HMAS Sheean, a Collins class submarine.
