Officer-in-Charge, Command and Junior Warfare Application Course (JWAC), Lieutenant Commander Prudence Hawkins-Griffiths, with her team of dedicated shoe donators, and Ms Jennifer Reynolds, a volunteer from Shoes for Planet Earth, with a swag of donated running shoes at HMAS Watson.

Personnel from HMAS Watson teamed up with the company ‘Lululemon Athletica’ to donate footwear for ‘Shoes for Planet Earth’, which is a charity that collects and distributes recycled running shoes to those in need in local and international communities.

The charity proudly states that it has distributed some 20,674 donated shoes to people in need, all over Australia and in many international communities. These include people in homeless, youth and female crisis centres, indigenous community sporting groups and orphanages.

The team from Watson demonstrated great enthusiasm in its support of the charity drive and donated an amazing 47 pairs of shoes!

Jen Reynolds from Lululemon Athletica said the donation would help to make a difference on Australian soil.

"Watson's shoes are bound for a Northern Territory indigenous community," she said.
