The Hon. Warren Snowdon MP, Minister for Defence Science and Personnel meets with Midshipman Nam Nguyen and Mr Jack Greig.

ADFA Midshipman Nam Nguyen has returned from the Global Voices Delegation to the Global Security Conference and Shangri-La Dialogue held on April 18-21 this year. Since returning MIDN Nguyen is now looking forward to seeing his research paper on Australian Maritime Contributions to Conflict Prevention in the next (July) edition of the ADF Journal.

The Royal Australian Navy is saddened to hear of the passing of Rear Admiral David Guy Holthouse on Friday 31 May 2013.

The funeral service for RADM Holthouse will take place at 11am Friday 7 June 2013 at St Andrew's Anglican Church, Elrington Street, Braidwood.

On behalf of those currently serving and the broader Navy family, sincere condolences are extended to RADM Holthouse's family at this difficult time.

Navy is saddened to hear of the passing of Commander Ralph MacDonald on Saturday 1 June 2013.

The funeral service for CMDR MacDonald will be held at 1pm Thursday 6 June 2013 at the Memorial Chapel of Saint George the Martyr, HMAS Watson. Uniform for the funeral is W2 with Mourning Brassards.

On behalf of those currently serving and the broader Navy family, sincere condolences are extended to CMDR MacDonald's family at this difficult time.

Defence kicked off National Reconciliation Week (NRW) celebrations in Canberra with an inaugural Keynote Address, delivered this year by Army Australian Defence Force Academy Officer Cadet Thomas Boase, himself a member of the Wakka Wakka people from Brisbane. The title of the address was 'Let's Talk Recognition.'

It was an exciting day for the Royal Australian Navy’s latest Aircrewman graduates, Richard Clark and Damien Wallace, when they were both presented with their Aircrewman wings and promoted to the rank of Leading Seaman in a ceremony at Nowra’s Fleet Air Arm Museum.
