Mrs Roden is the daughter of the late Ordinary Seaman William Clark, who served in Yarra during the Second World War and receives the Unit Citation for Gallantry insignia for her father who served on HMAS Yarra (II),from Lieutenant Commander Stephen Hurd.

Just in time for Remembrance Day, the daughter of one of only 13 crew members to survive the sinking of HMAS Yarra (II) on 4 March 1942, has received an award in his honour over 70 years on.

An unexpected reunion was the result of some keen investigative work, after a decades-old military identification card was found inside a compartment of HMAS Darwin.

The 645 sailors and officers who lost their lives when HMAS Sydney II was sunk by the German raider Kormoran in 1941 were commemorated at a ceremony at the Cenotaph Martin Place on 19 November.

A plan to attract and retain more indigenous staff in Defence has been released to support reconciliation and contribute to the national efforts to close the gap in indigenous disadvantage.

HMAS Darwin's ships company come together on the flight deck to support White Ribbon Day.

HMAS Darwin will be marking White Ribbon Day with a symbolic show of white under their uniforms. Organiser, Sub Lieutenant Thomas Rodgers says it was a simple way to show support for a worthy cause.
