Able Seaman Mitchell Rodway is a member of the ship's company of HMAS Perth who, like the ship, is on his first operational deployment to the Middle East region as part of Operation MANITOU.

HMAS Perth breaks away after a Replenishment at Sea with RFA Fort Victoria in the Arabian Gulf during Perth's deployment for Operation Manitou.

In late August HMAS Perth joined US and Royal Navy warships as well as French and US Maritime Patrol Aircraft for a US-led anti-submarine warfare exercise in the north Arabian Sea.

HMAS Perth's MH-60R leaves the flight deck while the ship is in Victoria, Seychelles, to assist the Seychelles' Coast Guard in a search and rescue mission after a civilian boat capsized during the night.

HMAS Perth and its embarked MH-60R helicopter supported a search and rescue off the coast of Seychelles on 14 August.

Royal Australian Navy sailors Seaman Bridget Hopkins (left) and Able Seaman Freya Dodd, are on their first operational deployment at sea aboard HMAS Perth.

Half of HMAS Perth's crew are on their first Middle East mission, two of those are Seaman Boatswains Mate Bridget Hopkins and Able Seaman Combat Systems Operator Freya Dodd, who have quickly adapted to their roles on operations at sea.

High fives for Able Seaman Electronics Technician Charles Smith-Luck and Able Seaman Military Logistics Personnel Serena Gracia after dancing with the school children at Samata Sarana, a christian school and hostel for children, disabled and elderly on the outskirts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Volunteers from HMAS Perth spent their time ashore during a recent port visit to Colombo, Sri Lanka, to assist a local charity organisation which cares for children, the elderly and those that are unable to be supported by their families.

An ESSM is fired from HMAS Perth at the Pacific Missile Range Facility in Hawaii as part of the final Operational Acceptance Trial for the Australian designed Phased Array Radar and Combat Management System upgrades to the Anzac Class Frigate ASMD system.

The Royal Australian Navy and the Defence Materiel Organisation have recently completed the final Operational Acceptance Trial for the Australian-designed Phased Array Radar and Combat Management System upgrades to the Anzac Class frigate Anti-Ship Missile Defence system.
