Despite a number of personal and professional challenges, Commander Ian Davies persevered and recently achieved the prestigious milestone of 40 years Navy service.

Blood donors from south-east Queensland’s HMAS Moreton have helped Navy to a leading place in three of the four Defence Blood Challenge categories.

As a parting favour for retiring Chief Petty Officer Bernard Matson, personnel from HMAS Moreton rolled up their sleeves and donated enough blood to save 30 lives.
