In February, ten members of HMAS Arunta’s Ships Company donated their time and skills to help out the children of the Malibu School in Safety Bay, Western Australia, as a part of Navy’s ongoing support to the community.

The Defence Community Organisation’s (DCO) annual ‘Welcome to the Shoalhaven’ family day and expo was held at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at HMAS Albatross on the weekend, in glorious south coast sunshine.

Participants of the Tasmanian Relay for Life enjoy the music performed by the Tasmanian Contingent of the Royal Australian Navy Band as they continue their laps of the circuit.

The first of six Tasmanian Relay For Life events was held in Hobart on 1 and 2 March and the Tasmanian Contingent of the Royal Australian Navy Band was on hand to ‘gee-up’ the participants who had pledged to run or walk the circuit over the 24-hour period.

South African Navy's Rear Admiral Sedge Pillay (right) hands ‘the weight’ to Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Ray Griggs, to officially commence the 2014 Indian Ocean Naval Symposium in Perth, Western Australia.

The 2014 Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) got underway in Perth on March 26 as ‘the weight’ was officially handed from outgoing chair the South African Navy (SAN) to the Royal Australian Navy.

The 723 Squadron Taipan Pairs Display Team practicing for the Centenary of Military Aviation Airshow, held at the former RAAF air station at Point Cook in Victoria, over the weekend of 1-2 March 2014.

The Navy Helicopter Pairs display team normally based out of 723 Squadron, HMAS Albatross, spent the last two weekends south of the border taking part in celebrations to mark the 100 year anniversary of military flying.

HMAS Huon's Ship's Company mark the 226th anniversary of the founding of Lord Howe Island with a parade and ceremony at the Island's Cenotaph.

HMAS Huon anchored in the approaches to the lagoon of Lord Howe Island yesterday. This day marks the moment when Lieutenant Henry Ligbird Ball and members of the Ship’s Company of HMS Supply founded the island 226 years ago.
