After an extensive five month deployment in south-east Asia, Australian Navy submarine HMAS Sheean steamed back into Fleet Base West, in Rockingham, Western Australia last week.

The combined joint military exercise BERSAMA LIMA has commenced in Changi Naval Base, in Singapore involving military forces from Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom operating together under the Five Power Defence Arrangements.

In a milestone event for Navy, the inbound Hobart class destroyers will be the first Royal Australian Navy warships to be equipped with the upgraded Standard Missile (SM-2).
