The Gloucester Cup presented to HMAS Success.

Pouring rain did not dampen the pride of all present when His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove, AK, MC (Retd) Governor General of Australia presented HMAS Success with the Royal Australian Navy’s most prestigious annual award for outstanding performance, the Gloucester Cup.

Able Seaman Communication and Information Systems Georgina Brooks is served dinner by Executive Sous Chef - Mr Pongpisit Ungsuchaikij, of the Marriott Resort and Spa Hotel, Pattaya, during a Thai cooking class which took place on HMAS Perth during their visit to the port of Sattahip in Thailand.

While in Sattahip, Thailand, for a port visit, HMAS Perth was delighted to welcome onboard three top local chefs from the Marriott Resort & Spa Hotel in Pattaya for a Master Chef class in Thai cuisine. The initiative was organised by Mr Peter Thorand, the President of the local branch of the Navy League of Siam.

His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove, AK, MC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, reviewing officer of the New Entry Officer Course 52 graduation, inspects the graduates during the ceremony held at HMAS Creswell.

Almost 100 years since his great-great uncle entered the Royal Australian Navy College at HMAS Creswell, Sub-Lieutenant Nick Gurieff was among 106 new naval officers graduating as part of New Entry Officer Course 52 today.

The name ‘Returned and Services League’ or RSL as it is more commonly known, conjures images of the local club. However, behind this ‘shopfront’ is an organisation which directly supports the men and women of the Australian Defence Force who deploy today.

Navy's MRH 90 helicopters from 808 Squadron in Nowra, New South Wales, are infinitely capable, proving they can do the 'heavy lifting' recently in a self-sufficient deployment to Tasmania.
