Carrying the tail number N48-001, Australia's first Seahawk Romeo completed its first flight.

The Defence Materiel Organisation reached a significant milestone overnight when it took delivery of the first two of 24 MH‑60R Seahawk Romeo maritime combat helicopters from the United States Navy.

Presenter Neil Oliver has a lesson on how to use a sextant onboard HMAS Paluma's forecastle by POHSM Russell Hinze - to the right of him is LSHSO Benjamin Whittaker.

A BBC Television crew visited HMAS Paluma in April to film a segment for the series Coast Australia. The segment will air next Monday on Foxtel’s History Channel.

After two years of construction, the upgraded Royal Australian Navy Diving School and the Submarine and Underwater Medicine Unit (SUMU) at HMAS Penguin was officially opened by Deputy Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral Michael van Balen today.

Maritime Logistics Officer Commander Sean Noble, RAN, runs through some of the procedures involved in the Maritime Logistics Officer role at sea for Deputy Maritime Logistics Officer Lieutenant Kristen Russo for her upcoming Maritime Logistics Charge Qualification Board onboard HMAS Perth.

The new Maritime Logistics Charge Qualification Board (CQB) was unveiled on November 12 at HMAS Kuttabul with its first candidate passing.

The LHD02 Hull (to be known as HMAS Adelaide once commissioned) departs Navantia Ferrol dockyard in Spain, for a short trip south to Vigo.

The second Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) under construction for the Royal Australian Navy has departed the Navantia Ferrol Dockyard in Spain and will soon be transported to Australia.

Three federal politicians were given a hands-on experience of life in the Royal Australian Navy recently, when they visited HMAS Creswell as part of the Australian Defence Force Parliamentary Program 2013.
