On a clear autumn afternoon, before a backdrop of Sydney Harbour, HMAS Melbourne departed Fleet Base East this week for a voyage through the Pacific and South East Asian waters.

It’s been a busy start to the year for HMAS Brisbane, having not only conducted her first Mariner Skills Evaluation, but also her first ammunitioning, structural firings and recently her Seaworthy Assurance Trials.

Despite searching 150 square nautical miles off the coast of Sri Lanka, HMA Ships Leeuwin and Diamantina have been unable to confirm the final resting place of HMAS Vampire (I).
