The submarine rescue vessel LR5 is launched off the work deck of MV Stoker into the basin at Fleet Base-West for a systems test run during Ex Black Carillon 2016.

An intensive three week submarine escape and rescue exercise has been conducted off the Western Australian coast.

The Sikorsky MH-60R

The Sikorsky MH-60R "Romeo" Seahawk helicopter "2-4" which is the 24th and final Romeo military helicopter to be delivered to the Royal Australian Navy from Sikorsky Defence Systems and Services as part of AIR9000 Phase 8.

The last of Navy's 24 MH-60R maritime combat helicopters was accepted by Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Tim Barrett, in a ceremony at  Lockheed-Martin’s Logistics and Maintenance Facility at Nowra’s Aviation Technology Park on Monday 12 September.

Personnel from AUSCDT1 observe one of their team leaping from a US Navy MH53E Sea Dragon while conducting airborne mine disposal exercises.

Australian Navy divers had a rare chance to work with dolphins during recent mine detection exercises, as a small contingent shared tactics, training and procedures with counterparts from other countries in San Diego during Exercise Rim of the Pacific 2016 (RIMPAC 16).

HMAS Perth breaks away after a Replenishment at Sea with RFA Fort Victoria in the Arabian Gulf during Perth's deployment for Operation Manitou.

In late August HMAS Perth joined US and Royal Navy warships as well as French and US Maritime Patrol Aircraft for a US-led anti-submarine warfare exercise in the north Arabian Sea.
