On Saturday, the Australian Defence Force Academy held its annual Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) Parade. The CDF Parade is significant to the Academy as it formally welcomes and inducts first year Midshipmen and Officer Cadets into the Academy undergraduate body.

Four generations of the Naismith family with Naval links in each generation visited the Australian War Memorial as part of the HMAS Perth and Last Post ceremonies.

Friday evening at the Australian War Memorial, Mechanician (MECH) Robert Naismith who was killed in action during World War II at the Battle of Sunda Strait was honoured by four generations of his family during the Last Post ceremony.

As Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral (VADM) Ray Griggs AO CSC RAN addressed a reception in honour of Navy's 113th birthday, he reminded all those in uniform that it is a day to remember Navy's heritage.

The Royal Australian Navy division leads the Australian Defence Force contingent in the 2014 Sydney Mardi Gras parade.

The Defence contingent in the 2014 Mardi Gras parade, led by Captain Christine Clarke, RAN, Director of Navy People Policy, has taken to the streets of Sydney to participate in the iconic festival. CAPT Clarke, a strong supporter of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Trans-Gender, Intersex (LGBTI) community, has participated since 2008 and last year led the first official Navy contingent.
