United States Navy Commander, US Third Fleet, Vice Admiral Kenneth Floyd, has welcomed a group of visitors from Down-under as part of the Combined Forces Maritime Command (CFMCC) for Ex Talisman Sabre 2015.

As Australian and US Navy warships participating in TALISMAN SABRE 2015 continue high-end maritime operations off the northern and eastern Australian coasts, a team of Australian warfare specialists are also being put through their paces on the other side of the world.

From left to right, Royal Australian Navy Lieutenant Commander Alison Zilko, Civilian Mariners Shannon Alves, Fred Beck, Daniel Claycomb and Australian Army Lieutenant Colonel Rod Petersen all participated in saving a local man’s life after he had fallen off a boat at Honiara July 10.

The quick reactions of Australian and US personnel have saved the life of a drowning man in the Solomon Islands on 10 July.

HMAS Perth fires her 5 inch gun, in company with warships USS Preble and HMNZS Te Kaha as they conduct an anti-aircraft firing serial against a towed target off the Northern Territory coast during Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015.

As Australian soldiers and US Marines landed on the beach at Fog Bay in the Northern Territory, HMAS Arunta and HMAS Perth were on watch, just over the horizon. As part of the Expeditionary Strike Group, the Anzac class frigates were working alongside destroyers and cruisers with aircraft carrier, USS George Washington, as part of Exercise TALISMAN SABRE.

HMAS Leeuwin’s galley was a pressure cooker during their recent visit to Tonga with the chefs and stewards asked to prepare a breakfast fit for a king.

The submarine intervention gear ship MV Besant in Cockburn Sound approaching Fleet Base West in Western Australia.

The latest enhancement to Navy's submarine search and rescue capability steamed into her new home at Fleet Base West, Rockingham, Western Australia recently. As one of two ships being acquired to further enhance the capability, MV BESANT will be the submarine escape gear ship.
