As guests arrived for the commissioning of the Royal Australian Navy’s newest ship on 28 November, they began to appreciate the size of the Landing Helicopter Dock.

Last weekend, members from HMAS Harman joined in a day of festivities at the Queanbeyan City Council family fun day and the Gift. For 35 years the event has brought together people from the region.

Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Tim Barrett launched the book Celebrating 100 Years of Pride in the Fleet in Sydney today next to the imposing bow of Navy's newest asset.

Fifty two cardboard cut-outs of women form a ribbon display on the flight deck of HMAS Anzac, representing the fifty two women a year that are killed due to violence from men in Australia.

After returning home after spending most of 2014 away from their home port, the ship's company of HMAS Anzac paused at Fleet Base East take a united stand against violence against women.

Navy’s commitment to ending men’s violence against women strengthened further recently when the senior service participated in a golf day. The event was held at the Royal Military College Golf Course, on behalf of the White Ribbon campaign and hosted by the Australian Defence Credit Union.

It was a day dedicated to celebrating Navy’s traditions and heritage at HMAS Albatross, when more than 700 personnel formed up for ceremonial divisions and inspection by Head of Navy Engineering, Rear Admiral Michael Uzzell, and Albatross Commanding Officer, Captain Simon Bateman.

The story of the battle between HMAS Sydney (I) and SMS Emden is one of cunning, strategy, endurance, and honour. But a labour of love was the focus of this year's traditional mess dinner at HMAS Cerberus.
